Traits

Traits are inherited from parent to offspring as shown in the graph bellow. Traits are passed through genes and the dominant trait (the stronger trait), or heterozygous dominant, shows and the other trait of the same cathegory remains hidden as the recessive. This true unless both genes given by both parents are equal, this makes the trait homozygous dominant.

Heterozygous: Also known as hybrid. When the Genotype for the characteristics has different genes. (Hetero= One,different)

Homozygous: When the Genotype for the characteristic has the same genes. (Homo= Two, equal)

Recessive: When the trait or characteristic remains hidden because there is a stronger trait in precense, the dominant.
